Love

Carrie Bradshaw famously said, “Women come to New York in search of the two ‘L’s: Labels & Love.” We probably wouldn’t say her viewpoint is 100% correct, but we do acknowledge that no matter you are a man or a woman, no matter you are in New York or elsewhere, everyone wants love because that’s human nature. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, everyone not only needs to be loved, but also needs to love someone. Therefore, the majority of online daters are looking for true love.

  • Love is the ultimate antidote to fear. Fear is the root cause of anxiety, worry and stress. Psychologists claim that the ultimate antidote to fear is love because fear and love can’t co-exist. Modern society is filled with busyness and competition in almost every area of our life, so the best way to look after our wellbeing is to find real love.
  • Love elevates attraction. The initial attraction stage of a relationship is also known as the honeymoon phase. That’s the intense excitement caused by a large amount of dopamine and oxytocin. But that high level of hormones won’t last for a lifetime because the human body has protection mechanism (a man’s brain can keep producing a large amount of dopamine and oxytocin for 6 months, whilst a woman’s brain can keep doing that for 18 months). Therefore, in order to make a relationship sustainable, the intense attraction has to become true love.
  • Love is the elite’s choice. The elite of the society tend to look for love rather than other kinds of relationships, because they don’t waste time dating people that they know they won’t marry. If you have the same value system, you’d better look for love instead of other types of relationships online.
